Hannah I need to stop reading your posts… literally every two sentences jolts me back into the China nostalgia!!

Yunnan produce is so special... I wonder if a great chef could open a restaurant like the Peruvian Central to highlight it? With solid execution and decent PR, I could see it becoming THE destination restaurant of China.

We have a fern that's similar to those fiddlehead ferns called midin and it's commonly consumed in East Malaysia. 😊 It's so delicious with that silky crunch. We stir fry it with red wine; sambal belacan; or just ginger and garlic.

Ooh, that sound delicious. I used to forage for fiddlehead ferns in Portland, Oregon - I love how they pop up in the wild all around the world!

what an amazing selections of produce, many I have never seen or tried. And instagram didn’t work for me either when I visited China, even with vpn.

I think I had jasmine buds with eggs, when I was in China. I remember seeing it in restaurants (not only in Yunnan)
